Accessibility Statement

We strive to make all our services, including this web site, available to everyone. If you have any problems accessing any part of our web site please contact us and we will do our best to resolve the issue or otherwise find a solution for you.

When enquiring please tell us of any special requirements or needs you may have so that we may advise on the suitability of the accommodation we offer and ensure a stay with us is as comfortable as possible.

Physical access to the Old Vicarage

The Old Vicarage is a mid-nineteenth century property presented in a Victorian style. The property is on two floors and in keeping with the original layout all of the bedrooms are on the upper floor. We do not have a lift, but the upper floor is accessed by a wide staircase with a secure handrail.

Using our web site

We have tried to ensure our web site displays logically and clearly throughout and is accessible with a wide range of devices. Wherever possible we have avoided content dependant on or limited by individual browser configurations such as java, javascript and flash.

All pages on this site validate as XHTML 1.0. and have been designed using cascading style sheets. No frames of any kind have been used in the design of this web site and tables are only used to display data where appropriate. This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers.

If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.

Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict Valid CSS!

Aids to navigation

Each page maintains a consistent layout, with a decorative page header, a navigation area, page content which always begins with a title, a secondary navigation area and a page footer providing contact details and a link back to the top of the page.

Link text is written to make sense out of context. Many links have title attributes to describe the links in greater detail and links open in the same window.

Browsers

For visual browsers we have attempted to cater for as many of the different options allowed by desktop web browsers, including text sizing, page width and height adjustment, colours and layout.

If you are browsing the web with images disabled or using a device which does not support images, our web site provides text alternatives relevant to the content of the image. These are available directly within the text for the page which should mean you do not to do anything to make them available.

Printing

When you print pages from this web site, our layout should automatically change, removing unneccessary navigation and decoration to create a concise functional output to your printer. We recommend you make use of any Print Preview option in your browser before printing to ensure the output is as expected.

Feedback
